The set of books Modern Greek for Foreigners is the outcome of many years' work with foreign students of Greek. It has been tested at all levels.
It follows the communicative approach supported by audiovisual material ( humoristic sketches and cassettes).
The whole series covers approximately 12.000 lexical items coming from both basic Greek vocabulary and writings by contemporary Greek authors. The whole material covers approximately 3400 pages. The illustrations by the renowned cartoonist Alexis Kyritsopoulos are rich and full of imagination and contribute to the memorization of dialogues, new words, expressions and drills.
This material is presented in such a way as to enable drills, language laboratory exercises and written exercises. The language used is a middle-of-the-road clear "demotiki".
The third book (advanced 1) is targeted to those who already have a good knowledge of the language, and would like to explore its richness by the detailed study of excerpt from the press and from contemporary Greek literature. In this book points of expressions, grammar idioms, syntax and listening comprehension are studied and analyzed.
